Corpus Christi College Welcomes the Pupils of St. Kevin’s Primary School |
|
The College is pleased to welcome the p7 pupils of St. Kevin’s every Thursday afternoon to have a short taster course of Spanish. We have been looking at the differences and similarities between Spain and Ireland and the geography of Spain. Our language learning will include how to give our names, count from 1 – 20 , the names of pets and the colours. The short course will last 6 weeks and is a great way to spend a Thursday afternoon. We even had a special visit from Santa just before Christmas. |

The Armagh Rhymers – An Ageless Tradition |
The Armagh Rhymers are undoubtedly one of Irleand’s most celebrated folk theatre acts. The Rhymers have delighted audiences all over the globe and in November, 2009, it was the turn of the boys in Corpus Christi College to enjoy their unique fusion of music, drama, song and dance. The show, which the rhymers performed with the help of the pupils from 9s, gave the boys an excellent insight into ancient tradition of “mumming” which stretches back 2,500 years. In a world where our young people, through the popular media, know more about David Beckham’s latest hairstyle than their own heritage, we were delighted at Corpus Christi College to allow our children to avail of a wonderful example of our Irish Heritage. Maybe through initiatives such as this we will inspire our pupils to treasure their heritage, encourage its existence and ensure its survival.

Odean Trip Year 8 by Ms O'Neill |
|
On Thursday 19th November 09 all year eight pupils and 9N went to the Odean cinema to watch `The City of Ember` as part of their Media Studies course.
After the film, a question and answer session took place with a member of Cinemagic and a Funder of the film. The Boys gained a lot of inside knowledge about the production of this film which was made in Belfast Titanic Quarters.
Below is a picture of some boys from 8K with the founder and a member of Cinemagic.
