Progress File

What is a Progress File?

It is a black folder, kept in your tutor’s classroom; all pupils in Corpus Christi College have one.

What is the Progress File for?

  • Your Progress File is about you! It is a file for you to store important information about yourself. You will be given the opportunity in PSE class to complete various tasks which will help you to understand more about yourself and what you would like to do in the future.

Your File can also be used to keep an ongoing record of your achievements and successes whilst you are at the College. You can include items such as; certificates, photographs, newspapers cuttings and pieces of work which you are proud of.

What do I do with my Progress File after I leave school?

  • You will be able to use your file for information, for example when you are filling out applications for jobs. It will help you to remember what you have achieved and what you are good at.
  • You can take parts of your Progress File to interviews to show the interviewer your success and achievements over the years.

  • You can continue to update your Progress File after you leave school by adding to your C.V, certificates and awards.

The Progress File is a black folder, in which pupils store items such as their C.V., work experience certificates, school certificates, youth club, sport and other awards and achievements both from school and outside school.

Pupils use time in PSE class and Careers throughout their five years at the College to complete various pieces of work. This encourages the pupils to:

  • reflect upon their strengths and weaknesses
  • review their progress
  • recognise their potential
  • identify realistic goals and targets
  • record their achievements

Progress File allows young people make the most of themselves and their opportunities. They can use the file to reflect on their achievements and successes and it will help them to complete application forms for further education and jobs. They can also bring relevant parts of it to interviews.

Progress File is for learners of all ages. It can be used to help them make progress and achieve more. It also helps the individual to be more in control of their learning, their personal development and to plan for their future. It is about making improvements and seizing opportunities, both personally and academically.
