Overview

History will develop interest and enthusiasm in understanding the value of today’s society.

They will understand the different cultures that shaped our society and the social, cultural,
religious and ethnic diversity of Irish, British and European History.

Students will build on their understanding of the past and improve as independent, critical and
reflective thinkers, demonstrating curious and enquiring minds.

What will the course prepare students for?

This course will prepare students for third level education. The study of History also provides a sound foundation for careers such as Law, Journalism, Education or Administration.
