Overview
The study of religion makes a particular contribution to candidates’ understanding of spiritual,
moral and cultural issues by encouraging them to reflect upon their own attitudes, and those of
others, to the topics under consideration.
This course will aim to build on the foundations of religious inquiry established through GCSE and
seeks to challenge students to explore in greater depth what it means to be a religious person in
the modern world drawing support and guidance from religious texts.

Two year course – AS and A2

The Gospel of Luke
• Unit 1 – Introduction to Luke’s Gospel
• Unit 2 – The Theology of Luke’s Gospel
Religious Ethics
• Unit 1 – Foundations, Principles and Practice
• Unit 2 – Ethics and Society
Assessment
Each unit will be assessed by a written paper worth 25% of the final award.
