A specialist work related programme of study that covers the key knowledge and practical skills required
for sports occupations.

Duration

The course will last two years with 360 guided learning hours per year.

Preference given to those with a First Diploma Level 2 or Equivalent

• Work based experience in sport
• Health and safety in sport
• Sports injuries
• Training and fitness for sport
• Sport and exercise in massage
• Fitness testing for sport/exercise
• Sports coaching
• Practical team sports
• Sports development
• Practical individual sports
• Rules regulation and officiating in sport

Assessment and Grading

Each unit contains a grading grid with statements of the assessment criteria used to
determine the evidence that each learner must produce in order to receive a pass, merit or
distinction.
