Geography

Key Stage 3

Geography helps us to understand the world in which we live, both locally and globally by exploring the interdependencies of natural, social and economic systems. Through engagement with issues relevant to their lives, pupils gain an understanding of the importance of geopraphical knowledge to their lives now and in the future.

Pupils study a wide range of topics in KS3. The areas studied are both interesting and topical and include, for example, Climate Change, Population Migration and Global Country. Pupils will develop map skills and an expertise in methods of data collection. They will have oppurtunities to carry out fieldwork. They will research and manage information to investigate geopraphical issues. Pupils will be required to think critically and flexibly in order to solve problems. They will work with others and still have many oppurtunities to demonstrate creativity and initiative. We hope that all our pupils will be able to communicate effecively in oral, visual, written, mathematical and ICT formats.
