External Examinations

Our department is very proud of our examination results, continually among the best in the College. Over the last few years we have an average of 83% A – C pass rate in GCSE Physical Education.

Always striving to improve, the department now offers the Edexcel BTEC 1st Diploma in Sport (equivalent to 4 GCSE’s). The course is now in its second year and is open to suitably able and interest pupils.

The Diploma provides pupils with opportunities to gain employment in the sports sector or progress to our Sixth Form Centre to undertake the BTEC National Certificate in Sport (equivalent of 2 ‘A’ levels).

On completion of the National Certificate in Sport, pupils may once again choose to pursue careers in the sports industry or they may progress to third level education.
