PSE

Personal and Social Education at Corpus Christi College is an important part of the curriculum and in keeping with the ethos of the school, encouraging the appreciation of diversity, community and the promotion of self awareness. Essentially, the PSE curriculum aims to develop knowledge of a range of PSE topics; develop skills of enquiry and communication; develop an understanding of the spiritual, moral, social and cultural values of the school, society and of people of diverse faiths and finally develop skills of active participation and responsible action.

 

The programme is taught by all staff with the main responsibility being via the tutor, it is taught one period per week. Pupils are expected to be willing to listen in lessons, while contributing ideas and viewpoints within a tolerant and accepting atmosphere. Assessment of progress in PSE is made by the form tutor and reported to parents by the end of the academic year.
