The Science Department believes it is important that pupils experience science outside the classroom. Events are organised to encourage pupil’s interest in the subject. This has included pupils carrying out environmental work at local recycling points and landfill sites. Pupils have also had the chance to question many leading experts in their field. Students have also entered and won a variety of competitions outside the school. Including “The Science of Cookery” and “The Engineering of As well as this, our pupils can join the Reptile Club where they can care for and learn about the animals. The Science Department consists of 6 staff and 2 technicians. Our laboratories are spread over two buildings and are fully equipped with modern facilities. Two of our laboratories are fully fitted with ICT equipment while a further two have interactive whiteboards and projectors. Key Stage 3 In Years 8, 9 and 10 our pupils follow a diverse curriculum made up of Biology, Chemistry and Physics. The Department has made the most of the new NI curriculum and introduced projects that are aimed at increasing pupils understanding of the world around them.
